My Testimony - It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

I am from India, a computer programmer by profession, I came to Bahrain (in the Arabian Gulf) in November 1999 for better prospects and started working in a company, but they could not get the required work permits to employ expatriates and I had to quit that job.

I was about to return to India, but on January 9, 2000 I had a heart attack. I was admitted to a Hospital in Bahrain. They said that there is at least 2 blocks in my arteries and I may need a by-pass surgery. They were preparing for the same but as I was a visitor in this country I had to bear all the expense. That was something I could not afford so I said I would continue the treatment in India, as it's cheaper there. After staying in the hospital for 10 days I was discharged. My visa got extended for 2 more months on medical grounds.

After a week or so I was called for an interview with a senior doctor of the hospital. He said since I am so young (I was only 36) he will try to help me, he asked me how many cigarettes I had since I left the hospital (I used to smoke before) and I said I didn't had any, he stared at me for a while and then wrote in my file "STOPPED SMOKING" in red. I was surprised to see that. Even though its written on all cigarette packs that smoking is injurious to health, I never knew it was this important. He said he would let me know if he could do something and let me go.

The next day I got another call from the hospital saying that they are willing to treat and all I have to pay is a nominal amount 100 BD (Bahraini Dinar) - less than $300. That was Gods hand working. Praise The Lord!

21 days were passed since the attack, I was re admitted and send for angiography. They carried out the test 3 times, I thought things are real bad, but what happened was that I was cured and they could not find anything wrong with my heart. My Doctor ran out of the room to let my relatives know the good news. I was not aware of this until the chief asked me "Who referred you here?" I was surprised, I said it's the same hospital and he said nothing is wrong with me and went off. I later learned that all the cardiologists were summoned to study my case and to find what happened to me, but they could not find an answer. I was totally healed. Praise The Lord!

Even though I was born and brought up as a Christian I never had that personal relation with Jesus and never believed in miracles either. Lot of people prayed for me in Bahrain and back home in India, but I never prayed, I was rebelling against the Lord, but still he showered his Mercy upon me and I was healed. Thank you Jesus!!

I thought that the earlier diagnosis was wrong since the angiography had proven beyond doubt that nothing is wrong in me. By then my visa expired and I went back to India.

There I knew few Cardiologists with whom I was associated in developing some software for the hospital. I had all the reports and even the videos of my angiography with me. They went through the reports and said that it's so evident from my ECG that I had a major heart attack and since there is no blockage there is nothing to worry. They asked me to leave the recordings of my angiography with them so that they can study and I did so. I went back the next day and this is what they had to say, "A few come out of a heart attack with out any blockage. But what makes you so rare is that you don't have any damage on your heart from this attack, its like you are having a new heart. You are as good as any other person."

These words really opened my eyes and I realized that what happened to me is nothing short of a miracle.

I was yet to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, and it seemed like that was not enough for me to turn to him. Days went on; I could not take up any job in India as I was expecting to get back to Bahrain. Somehow it was getting delayed. I was working for almost 14 hours a day and now there is nothing to do. I could not stand it. I start breaking down physically, mentally, and financially. Slowly frustration started creeping in I had everyone around me but nobody could help me

One day my mom left few Christian books for me, at first I was so reluctant to go through them, but since there was nothing else I could do I start reading them. And that was a beginning. Beginning of a new relation. A relation with Lord Jesus

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.......... Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? (Psalm 139:5,7)

I had no other choice. I was crushed and rebuild. I am Born Again. The most wonderful of all the miracles.
