My Baptism

I had been playing a song called Hosanna all week long, I didn't
remember that it was the song played at my wife's baptism.

29th of August

Glenn texts me and asks if I want to go out clubbing tonight?

Too which I reply to him firmly, "Why would I want to go to the devils
playground, the day before I'm getting baptized that would make me a
hypocrite, sorry no"

Glenn drops of Jaimee at my place and heads out with his friend Ian to
go clubbing without me. [in the hopes of getting him laid because he'd
just broken up with his girlfriend or wife not quite sure which]

Glenn turns up at 12:45am with Ian, and asks again if I wanted to go out
with him, too which I replied no I am getting baptized tomorrow, the
only place I am going is bed.

Glenn leaves, with Jaimee and Ian and I head off to bed, he headed off
to Ian's place to get a bottle of wine, and then headed back to Jaimee's
place with Ian, whom at this time was reportedly tried and drunk (Ian),
no not Diane's Ian, all 3 fell asleep in separate locations at Jaimee's
place in the wee small hours of the morning of the 30th.

30th of August

I woke up, went for a shave and cut myself and it just wouldn't stop
bleeding, too which I said to it nice try but I'm going to do this
bleeding or not, at which point it stopped.

Then he tried to hide my jacket from me, tried to course my wife to be
upset and angry at me.

I was due at the church at 9:45 for prayer at the church, there was no
sign of Glenn who was going to pick me up, so I felt compelled that I
should walk to church today or the devil would get his way.

So I started walking and txt Glenn that I was walking to church, and
that he needed to pick up Sharlene instead, as I'd have no clothes, some
point before I sent that message Glenn's phone died and he didn't get
the message.

Glenn thought it was just me he was picking up, and Heidi was picking up
Sharlene and the kids.

Hiedi of course wasn't as her car was off the road without a warrant
while still drivable, she didn't want to get a fine.

By 10:55 it became obvious to Sharlene that she wasn't going to make to
my baptism and told Heidi that Glenn hadn't appeared, where by she
jumped in her car to try and get Sharlene to the church on time, and
asked for me to go last, there was 4 others that day being baptized.

11:15am and it was my turn, Sharlene and the kids had just got underway,
and Glenn was asleep still in bed, so I walked up and and got baptized
without Sharlene or anyone there or so I thought.

After all I thought I am not doing this for approval of them or anyone,
it would have been nice for them to see, but I have to trust God and put
my hand in his, and so went through it, as I walked up the song changed
from something I just couldn't get the gist of as it was new and I
didn't know the words, too Hosanna, later I was to find out that this
was the same song that played at Sharlene's.

I got out and walked down the ramp, where to my surprise someone had
been there of all people that I thought wouldn't turn up, did turn up
Alisa she handed me a towel on the way down.

I went out of the service and went to the green room where I waited for
my clothes to arrive.
