A little background:
Let me first start by stating I am a christian, and have been a christian since I can remember.
I also am not new to I.R.C., probably been online before most of the users here on this network even new the internet existed.
Long time ago I was a member of the armed forces here in the states, and utilized a thing we use to call the arpanet "DARPA", for short. My handle which is what we use to call our nicks use to be "wolf" assigned to me by the Department of Defense. With this said, over the years, I have used various versions of this handle/nickname.
I have been involved recently with running and helping on other I.R.C networks either being a OPER or ADMIN, and currently help run a wonderful little christian based I.R.C. network.
Moving ahead:
I connect up here to Ablazenet.com and join the channel #Celebrate_Jesus, during fellowship I watch and say nothing as not to intrude and upholding good irc netiquette.
I receive a PRIV MSG from a user without him/her FIRSTLY requesting permission to do so from a user "GetSaved" requesting I changed my nick, so I ask politely why, and he/she tells me its not appropiate for this channel. I don't know why, he/she can assert such an assumption that a nick of wolfSPirit can be inappropiate.
I feel that if certain assumptions like this come forth not ever knowing or asking a person or getting to know a person can be made, this is NOT a place I wish to dwell. I probably have more history/experience and feel appalled a person could just off the top of their head make this kind of personal judgement call. And I think what would "Jesus, had done". I assure you, he would of not come to this persons conclusion.
If hospitality like this is common I assure you certain people that call themselves christians needs to take a look back at at their beliefs .. IMHO.. being a control zealot, is NOT setting a good christian example..

Network Policy
Hi WolfSpirit,
As Cre8d2Worship said this is just a channel issue, we as a network don't have any problem with your nick, but we need to respect our policy that, channel owners have the right to decide who stays in their channel and what is allowed in them, which of course must be within our broad policy.
There are few other popular channels in ablazenet, including network owned channels, and I don't think you will have any problem in any of them.
Sorry for what has happened.

Hi wolfSpirit: I am sorry
Hi wolfSpirit:
I am sorry that you had a bad experience in one of the channels. Each channel is run by moderators, as you know, and they do have full control and final authority as to what goes on within that channel. Did you try any of the other rooms that were available? I am sure that the reception might have been different. Personally, I find nothing offensive about your nickname.
Blessings,

I have a room on the network, and I would have no trouble with your nickname. Be sure to check some of the other chat rooms (channels) out. Each channel is independently controlled by their operators and moderators.
p.s. Some used to call me wolf too, for I do a few imitations, and one of them was a wolf how from the old scary movies. ;)
